Storing Hot Water for a Brighter Future

Direct Cylinders

Direct Copper Cylinders

Direct cylinders were originally designed to be used in conjunction with solid fuel appliances and copper back boilers. Today these units more commonly use electric immersion heaters as their heat source often taking the benefit of the Electricity Companies' lower rate Economy 7 tariffs.

Still available however for the replacement market these cylinders can be specified with boiler connections either as high flow or low flow and are manufactured in accordance with the new British Standard, BS 1566-1: 2002. They also comply with the new Part L Building Regulations.

Cylinders can also be manufactured to Economy 7 specification and to customers' own requirements. Matching customers' requirements is particularly important where older style cylinders are being replaced, where space is at a premium, and where specific connections are required (see Specials).

Where space is at a premium specially sized units are often required to meet achieve desired hot water volumes. To accommodate these requirements we are able to supply cylinders in alternative heights to those specified in the British Standard and to alternative diameters, including 375mm (15") and a range above 600mm (24"). Advice is available, of course, to determinethe optimum size of cylinder to meet a customer's particular needs.

Direct cylinders to the British Standard are available in a combination of specified heights from 675mm to 1800mm and specified diameters as listed below:
