Formed approximately 31 years ago as a joint venture, the company is now owned outright by husband and wife team John and Janet, who as working directors, are responsible not only for policy matters but importantly for the day to day management of the company.
John's 40 years plus experience with major cylinder manufacturers, both on the shop floor and in a managerial capacity, together with the expertise brought to the company by John and Janet's sons, Mark and Andrew, help ensure that the company, with its skilled workforce of more than 20, are able to deliver the highest quality products promptly and efficiently. This same experience and expertise enables the company to offer effective and relevant technical advice and assistance to its customers.
The company particularly prides itself on its ability as a family run hands-on business, to respond quickly and effectively to its customers needs and has built a reputation both for its quick response and in the manufacture of both domestic hot water cylinders and industrial calorifiers to customers' particular specifications.
A "quality assured" company and a member of the Water Manufacturers Association, Newark Copper Cylinder Co Ltd holds British "Kitemark" licences for the manufacture of indirect and direct cylinders to the new British Standard BS1566 - 1 : 2002, and both direct and indirect combination units to British Standard BS3198 : 1981. The rigorous quality control procedures required to maintain this "Kitemark" status are naturally applied to the complete range of products manufactured by the company as well.
Progressive in nature the company is pleased to work with associate and specialist companies in the development and manufacture of new generation units including high efficiency hot water cylinders, solar cylinders, mains pressure units, and pre-plumbed packages. Mark in particular has achieved a high level of expertise in the design and manufacture of solar and mains pressure units and has worked closely with others in this field to develop a wide variety of prototypes and to improve on their efficiency. His certification in the installation of unvented mains pressure units and of solar systems is clearly of benefit in this regard.
